Day 13: JUICE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

2c kale
1/4c frozen organic cranberry juice cocktail (I accidentally bought juice cocktail and I gotta use it eventually, so)
1 3/4c water
1c Quaker 100% whole grain old fashioned oats
2 scoops vanilla soy protein powder
1c frozen blueberries
1 medium pink lady apple
1 1/4c frozen raspberries

DEFINITELY one of if not my favorite that I’ve made so far. Juice as liquid base has such a huge impact on flavor. I just wish I hadn’t bought juice cocktail! But next time we go shopping, def stocking up on juice for a base. So good.

That reminds me, I gotta freeze the bananas I have left ahhh

Maybe you can’t compare apples and oranges, but you can certainly blend them!

I realize I always post smoothies but none of the actual process! THAT CHANGES NOW!

My general process:

  1. Add 2c greens and 2c liquid base. Blend. (Puree or liquefy)
  2. Add 2 scoops protein powder. Blend. (Stir or mix)
  3. Add 1/2c or 1c oats. Blend. (Puree or liquefy)
  4. Add 1c fruit #1. Blend. (Smoothie or ice crush)
  5. Repeat Step 4 after each fruit - generally 2c greens - 2c liquid base - 3c fruit is good!
  6. Taste test! If it’s good to go, grab a cup and a straw! Otherwise…
  7. Add 1tbsp blue agave sweetener. Blend. (Stir or mix0

2 scoops chocolate whey protein powder
1c whole grain oats
1tbsp Jif extra chunky peanut butter
2tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1tsp cinnamon
2 bananas (frozen in chunks)

I think I added too much cocoa powder maybe. I DUNNO ITS STILL PRETTY AWESOME

I don’t remember what day I’m on, but today’s smoothie is “oh shit I need to go grocery shopping soon!!” themed!

2c kale (the last of my kale!)
2c water
~1/3c oats (last of my oats!)
2 scoops soy protein powder
2 bananas (no more bananas!)
1c seedless red grapes
~3/4c frozen blueberries (last of my frozen fruit!)
1tbsp blue agave sweetener
a tray full of lightning bolt-shaped ice cubes

It’s delicious but holy cow do I need to go shopping soon!

I don’t even like peanut butter and MY GOD THIS IS DELICIOUS.
